Service Description

Yoga and Nature inspired writing mini retreat over 2 sessions 23rd and 30th April - 10am till 12 noon Step into spring with this special two-session mini-retreat that combines the restorative benefits of yoga with the mindful act of creative writing. Each session will begin with a gentle and supportive one-hour Dru yoga class, where we’ll move our bodies mindfully to help us feel more grounded and energised. Practicing postures that are inspired by the natural world, we’ll consider their positive effects on our bodies and minds. From there, we’ll gently move into a writing space, equipped with our reflections from the movements we started with, we’ll explore some nature writing and think about how we can incorporate the blossoming world around us into our poetry and prose. This mini-retreat is suitable for all yoga and writing abilities, beginners are welcome. We ask students to bring their own yoga mats, as well as a water bottle to stay hydrated and their choice of writing materials. About your facilitator Kayla is a Dru Yoga teacher as well as a certified Breath Coach. She loves offering safe and accessible yoga suitable to all levels, abilities and body types. Off the mat, Kayla is an author and teaches creative writing classes in Yorkshire. It's one of her joys to bring together the calming benefits of yoga with the mindful act of creative writing. Her debut novel, The Book of Moons, was published in 2020 by Fisher King Publishing. She published her poetry collection Between the Spaces independently in 2019 and has performed her work at the Ilkley Literature Festival and the Leeds Art Gallery, as well as other local venues across Yorkshire. Her work-in-progress, Behind the Green Sky, was recently longlisted for WriteMentor’s 2023 Novel-in-Development Award. It specialises in integrating your body, mind and spirit, helping you to positively transform how you think, how to keep your emotions uplifted as well as how to revitalise your body. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations, refunds and exchanges: If you cancel your course or class 14 clear days or more before the start date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your course or class less than 14 clear days before the start date, refunds will be given at the discretion of Craven Arts. No refunds or partial refunds will be given once the course has started. Craven Arts reserves the right to make alterations to the published details course as necessary and/or cancel the course. In the event that the course has to be cancelled or rescheduled, we will attempt to contact you with as much notice as possible and you will receive a full refund. Craven Arts cannot take responsibility for any of your travel and other costs and/or expenses associated with your attendance or planned attendance of the course (including in the event of changes or cancellation by the Craven Arts). You cannot resell or transfer your place at the course or class without the Craven Arts consent.
