Service Description

Please note this workshop takes place over 2 sessions. Making Session: Saturday 10th August, 10am till 12 Midday Raku Firing Session: Saturday 24th August, 10am to 4pm Join us at this exciting 2 session workshop with experienced artist/educator Sally Storr to explore the ancient and dramatic technique of raku firing. This workshop will be over 2 sessions. The first 2 hour session will take place on Saturday 10th August 10am till 12 Midday and will focus on the creation of your clay piece using raku clay. Your creations will then be taken away for a bisque firing before the exciting raku firing day being held on Saturday 24th August between 10am and 4pm! What’s Included: All materials and tools included. An experienced tutor. About Your Tutor: Sally studied Fine Art at Bradford School of Art, exhibiting her work before finally graduating with a first class BA Hons degree in 2007. Her practice explores the changes in the natural environment through sensory perception interpreting this in a variety of media. Sally has a fascination for process and materiality working in clay, glass, plaster and natural materials. She is a highly experienced facilitator, working as Artist/Educator at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park as well as delivering workshops to community groups through Arts organisation Skippko and Young Dementia, Leeds. Sally taught Ceramics and Glass alongside teaching the Young Creatives at Leeds Arts University for over 10 years. She now teaches ceramics locally and runs raku firing workshops from her home studio. Sally exhibits her work locally and nationally as well as working on private commissions.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations, refunds and exchanges: If you cancel your course or class 14 clear days or more before the start date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your course or class less than 14 clear days before the start date, refunds will be given at the discretion of Craven Arts. No refunds or partial refunds will be given once the course has started. Craven Arts reserves the right to make alterations to the published details course as necessary and/or cancel the course. In the event that the course has to be cancelled or rescheduled, we will attempt to contact you with as much notice as possible and you will receive a full refund. Craven Arts cannot take responsibility for any of your travel and other costs and/or expenses associated with your attendance or planned attendance of the course (including in the event of changes or cancellation by the Craven Arts). You cannot resell or transfer your place at the course or class without the Craven Arts consent.
