4-Week Course Craven Arts House Wednesday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm Explore the versatile beauty of watercolour with local artist and arts educator Amanda Beck. Whether you're new to watercolour or returning to build confidence and technique, this friendly and practical course offers guided learning, creative freedom, and plenty of inspiration. You’ll discover essential methods for painting all things Winter—supported through demonstrations and personal interpretation. Amanda’s relaxed, encouraging approach helps students embrace the creative process: “You’re making discoveries, not mistakes.” Before attending, please read the full materials list and guidance. What You’ll Learn: Colour theory and palette selection Brushwork, water control, and technique practice Creating finished paintings from structured studies Tips for continuing independently with your own materials Advice on tools you already have and those to purchase if desired Included Materials: Watercolour paper and paint Small mixing palette Size 12 round brush (Graduate Daler Rowney) What to Bring: Your own brushes (if you have them, bring a rigger and a flat brush) Watercolour palette (optional) Apron **Please note: The Education Room is in use by another class prior to ours, so we kindly ask that students arrive no earlier than 1:45pm to allow smooth transitions between sessions. About your tutor Amanda Beck: Amanda is a Yorkshire-based artist passionate about sketching on location and capturing everyday life. She brings over a decade of experience in arts education, including work with museums, festivals, and community groups. Before relocating to Yorkshire, Amanda led drawing tours and arts events for the University of Oxford’s museum service based at the Ashmolean Museum. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations, refunds and exchanges: If you cancel your course or class 14 clear days or more before the start date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your course or class less than 14 clear days before the start date, refunds will be given at the discretion of Craven Arts. No refunds or partial refunds will be given once the course has started. Craven Arts reserves the right to make alterations to the published details course as necessary and/or cancel the course. In the event that the course has to be cancelled or rescheduled, we will attempt to contact you with as much notice as possible and you will receive a full refund. Craven Arts cannot take responsibility for any of your travel and other costs and/or expenses associated with your attendance or planned attendance of the course (including in the event of changes or cancellation by the Craven Arts). You cannot resell or transfer your place at the course or class without the Craven Arts consent.
