Service Description
Sunday 13th September 10:30-4pm Enjoy a day of painting free flowing and expressive skies in watercolour. Skies are a great place to start if you’re new to watercolour or already have some experience and want to take your watercolour practice further. Painting skies can seem daunting at first but once you begin, you’ll soon be eager to paint another one! This workshop will help you plan your sky so you can experience more spontaneity when you paint. You’ll be taught through demonstrations alongside lots of 1:1 encouragement from an experienced Tutor. Objectives - To be able to choose palette for creating a dramatic sky. - To understand brush strokes and water control. - To understand essential watercolour techniques for creating skies. - to undertake several watercolour studies to understand how to use and master the techniques demonstrated. - To complete a finished skyscape. - To build confidence and enjoy the creative process. Suitable for beginners to those with some experience. All materials are provided on this workshop. This includes 2x sheets of good quality watercolour paper and watercolour paint. You will be provided with a round size 12 brush. Please bring any brushes you have, and Amanda will advise how to use them for sky paintings. Doors will open at 10.15 am your tutor will be at the main door to welcome you. The workshop starts at 10.30am Refreshments are provided. You are welcome to make yourself a drink on arrival and during the breaks. About your tutor: Amanda is a Yorkshire-based artist passionate about sketching on location and capturing everyday life. She brings over a decade of experience in arts education, including work with museums, festivals, and community groups. Before relocating to Yorkshire, Amanda led drawing tours and arts events for the University of Oxford’s museum service based at the Ashmolean Museum.

Cancellations, refunds and exchanges: If you cancel your course or class 14 clear days or more before the start date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your course or class less than 14 clear days before the start date, refunds will be given at the discretion of Craven Arts. No refunds or partial refunds will be given once the course has started. Craven Arts reserves the right to make alterations to the published details course as necessary and/or cancel the course. In the event that the course has to be cancelled or rescheduled, we will attempt to contact you with as much notice as possible and you will receive a full refund. Craven Arts cannot take responsibility for any of your travel and other costs and/or expenses associated with your attendance or planned attendance of the course (including in the event of changes or cancellation by the Craven Arts). You cannot resell or transfer your place at the course or class without the Craven Arts consent.
