Service Description

Two sessions: Thursday 17th September, 10am - 12pm Thursday 24th September, 10am - 12pm Learn a variety of silk art techniques with artist Jane Carlisle Bellerby, including colour blending, salting, creating visual texture, gutta resist, eco/rust printing, sun/lamplight printing and appliqué collage. Hands-on projects include creating a personal silk-art technique journal, mixed media greeting cards, colourful lavender bag and collage art. All materials provided. Students will receive a small sketchbook journal to make a record of techniques and silk samples, blank card mounts and a silk handkerchief, which can be turned into a lavender bag. Suitable for beginners to advanced practitioners wishing to try a new medium. About your tutor: Jane Carlisle Bellerby (MA Creative Practice) is a silk and mixed media artist and experienced art class facilitator. Her teaching goals are: To introduce people to a broad range of art techniques and media (easily accessible at home for future art-making). To improve practical skills and creative confidence. To encourage people to view art-making as a tool for nurturing personal wellbeing. To provide opportunities for connection to nature and companionship.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations, refunds and exchanges: If you cancel your course or class 14 clear days or more before the start date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your course or class less than 14 clear days before the start date, refunds will be given at the discretion of Craven Arts. No refunds or partial refunds will be given once the course has started. Craven Arts reserves the right to make alterations to the published details course as necessary and/or cancel the course. In the event that the course has to be cancelled or rescheduled, we will attempt to contact you with as much notice as possible and you will receive a full refund. Craven Arts cannot take responsibility for any of your travel and other costs and/or expenses associated with your attendance or planned attendance of the course (including in the event of changes or cancellation by the Craven Arts). You cannot resell or transfer your place at the course or class without the Craven Arts consent.
