Service Description

17th September - 22nd October Thursday afternoons, 1 - 3pm This creative art journaling workshop offers a gentle, playful space to explore creativity as a tool for wellbeing, reflection, and self-expression. Rooted in a person-centred and trauma-informed approach, the sessions invite participants to reconnect with their inner world through image, colour, texture, and words. Each session will be guided by a theme, with optional prompts and suggested techniques such as collage, mark-making, layering, intuitive drawing, and written reflection. There is no “right way” to journal here - everything is offered as an invitation, and participants are encouraged to follow their own instincts and curiosity. Alongside in-session exploration, there will be optional prompts which can be used during the sessions or after, supporting an ongoing creative practice between sessions. The emphasis throughout is on process over outcome, creating space for play, curiosity and connection. There is an opportunity to share pages or reflections on the process at the end of the session, although this is never an expectation. Participants to bring: A blank journal or sketchbook (min 150gsm, any size or style). What is provided: Basic art materials (e.g. pens, pencils, paints, glue stick, magazines, paper, scissors) This workshop is designed as a relaxed, inclusive and supportive space. There is no pressure to share your work, and participants are always encouraged to engage at their own pace and comfort level. About your tutor: Sally Golightly is a trainee psychotherapist and qualified APCCA Advanced Creative Arts Facilitator. She has also previously worked as a University Lecturer. With over a decade of experience supporting individuals and groups in reflective and wellbeing-focused spaces, her work is grounded in person-centred and trauma-informed practice, with a strong emphasis on creativity as a pathway to connection, meaning, and self-expression.
