Service Description

Craven Arts House is delighted to host a drop-in mixed-media drawing session for the whole family, led by tutors Leticia Suárez and Jane Carlisle Bellerby. The Big Draw Festival is the world’s largest celebration of drawing in all its forms, bringing people together through the power of creativity. This year's Big Draw Festival celebrates the act of creation itself, exploring drawing not just as a visual language, but as a powerful tool for play, reflection and self-expression. Join us as we experiment with unusual mark-making tools, ink and oil pastels to create bold, expressive drawings inspired by something you can see, feel, remember or imagine. There are no rules and no right or wrong way to draw, just an opportunity to explore your creativity and make your mark. About your tutors: Jane Carlisle Bellerby is a silk and mixed media artist and experienced teacher whose teaching goals are to introduce people to a broad range of art techniques and media, improve creative confidence whilst also encouraging people to view companionable art-making as a tool for nurturing personal wellbeing. Jane’s sessions are designed to accommodate all types of learners in a friendly and supportive space. Leticia Suárez is an industrial designer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with several years of professional experience designing a wide range of products. In recent years, she has shifted her focus towards the fine arts, following her passion for art and dedicating herself to painting as her primary profession. Since the beginning of 2026, she has been a teacher in training at the Life Drawing and Still Life courses at Saltaire Art School. Pay What You Feel We believe art should be accessible to everyone, regardless of income. To ensure we can continue offering high-quality creative experiences while paying our artist tutors fairly in line with Artists Union England rates, we invite you to contribute whatever you can, or whatever you feel the activity is worth. Book your place via our website and select a donation amount that feels right for you, or drop in and make a contribution on the day. Every donation helps us continue providing accessible arts activities for our community.
