Music Night Celebration Marks Conclusion of first Craven Arts Music Rooms Project

The culminating crescendo of the Music Rooms Project is set to resound with a vibrant Music Night Celebration on Saturday 11th May 2024 at Craven Arts House.

Over 4 months a group of twelve 15-19 year olds interested in working in the music industry came together to take part in the first Craven Arts Music Rooms Project.  Supported by established industry professionals Kurt Wood, Joe Tilston, amongst others and funded by National Lottery Community Fund, Two Ridings Community Foundation, and the North Yorkshire Inspire Fund, the project was aimed at providing students with the opportunity to gain valuable recording studio practice, learn about songwriting, turntablism, music production, and live sound engineering.

The Music Night Celebration serves as a tribute to the transformative power of music and community engagement.  "We are thrilled to mark the conclusion of the Music Rooms Project with this vibrant Music Night Celebration," said Craven Arts Lead Ann Rutherford"It is a testament to the unwavering support of our funders and the collaborative efforts and creative vision of our community. Together, we have created a space where music thrives and dreams take flight."

The free Music Night event includes live performances from project attendees as well as some great local talent.

Elphin Phoenix and Brown Dog the Lock Keeper - Three piece original rock music from the Skipton area.

August Gilde - A rare live performance from the beautiful acoustic sounds of August Gilde. For fans of Nick Drake and 60's/70's British folk.

Opening the night will be performances from Ellis Fitzgibbon, The Music Project Band, Madeleine Burrell, and Kitty Hutchinson.

The Music Rooms Project will re-launch in Autumn 2024 to provide another group of 15-19 year olds with the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in this exciting industry.

The Music Rooms are perfect for audio projects of any kind and are also available to hire for a small fee. For more information please contact info@cravenarts.co.uk
